The SYNERGIES consortium gathered in person for the first General Assembly in Rotterdam, hosted by our partner Gezamenlijke Brandweer (GB) in the World Port Center. We discussed project progress and future plans while enjoying the beautiful city view.
Day 1: Status Check and Workshops
The first day was dedicated to a comprehensive status update and preparation for the next steps in our project. Each work package presented its progress, addressing any questions and exploring potential synergies among partners. This session was important for ensuring that everyone was aligned and ready to move forward on the same path.
In the afternoon, we engaged in interactive workshops to define SYNERGIES stakeholder profiles, key messages, and communication channels. These sessions provided valuable insights and set the foundation for our future communication strategies. During in-person events, it is always beneficial to have workshops and interactive activities as they enhance collaboration, allow freer exchange of ideas, and strengthen interpersonal—and consequently, working—relationships.
Day 2: Exploring B-PREPARED and Interactive Sessions
The second day focused on discovering our sister project, B-PREPARED. The project is dedicated to building a Collaborative Knowledge Management System about disaster preparedness, featuring three demonstrator applications: a gamified geocaching mobile app for broad engagement, a virtual reality serious game for immersive learning, and a learning management system to track user progress across all applications. A great introduction, useful for identifying potential synergies and laying the groundwork for future collaborations.

We concluded the General Assembly with additional interactive sessions, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual support. The event ended with a shared enthusiasm for our next activities. Stay tuned to find out what’s coming next!
