Last week, the first edition of the Innovation & Technology Expo took place in Nijkerk, Netherlands, bringing together emergency responders, technology developers, policymakers, and researchers to discuss and demonstrate new innovations in disaster risk management. The event was organised by the Netherlands Institute for Public Safety (NIPV) in collaboration with the International Forum to Advance First Responder Innovation (IFAFRI).
The expo aimed to promote effective technology implementation, expand market volume, influence policymaking, and support knowledge-building in the first responder field. The program was filled with interesting workshops and sessions on future first response strategies, emergency management technology, and the role of human-AI collaboration. The exhibition space displayed cutting-edge equipment like extinguishing robots, robot dogs, drones, and even a flying car.
