How can “playing a game” help us manage a real-world disaster?
On April 17th, the SYNERGIES project is proud to co-host a joint webinar with our sister project, B-PREPARED, to explore the transformative power of Serious Games in disaster risk management and preparedness.
In an increasingly complex world, traditional training is no longer enough. We need innovative, immersive, and interactive ways to prepare practitioners, authorities, and citizens for the unexpected. This webinar will showcase how our two projects are tackling this challenge using different, yet perfectly complementary, technologies.
Two projects, one goal: enhancing preparedness
Through the support of the Disaster Risk Stakeholder Hub, which plays a vital role in connecting Horizon Europe projects working on similar societal challenges, SYNERGIES and B-PREPARED have found a natural synergy. While both projects aim to increase European resilience, we are approaching the “learning by doing” philosophy from different angles.
What to expect
The session will be a deep dive into the practical tools developed by both consortia:
-
SAVIT (SYNERGIES): we will present our Table Top Game, designed to simulate complex governance and decision-making scenarios. SAVIT allows participants to navigate the intricacies of coordination and resource management in a low-stakes, high-learning environment.
-
VR Training Tools (B-PREPARED): our partners will showcase their Virtual Reality solutions, which provide high-fidelity, immersive experiences to train individuals on specific response actions and behavioral preparedness.
An interactive experience
This is not just a webinar; it’s an open dialogue. We have dedicated a significant portion of the hour to Q&A and interactive discussion. Whether you are a first responder, a researcher, or a policymaker, we want to hear your questions and explore how these tools can be adapted to your specific needs.
